About The Instructor

Austin Douglas

Austin has been a Commercial Certified Pesticide Applicator in Michigan for the last 11 years.  He also holds credentials with the International Society of Arboriculture such as: ISA Certified Arborist,  ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified as well as ISA Michigan Chapter Oak Wilt Qualification.

He is also a Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) Qualified Plant Health Care Technician, and Tree Care Specialist.

He owns and operates his own pesticide application firm, Ditch The Itch - Poison Ivy and Mosquito Control Services in Goodrich, Michigan and is an instructor for Michigan Pesticide Applicators with the Michigan Green Industry Association.

He has helped thousands of pesticide applicators pass the National Pesticide Applicator Core Exam through free trainings on YouTube and with his 200 question practice exam he created on the National Pesticide Applicator Core Manual.

His passion for teaching pesticide applicators stems from what he wished he would have had when he entered the industry.

He has also observed the aging demographic of pesticide applicators and actively encourages younger adults to enter the pesticide applicator industry.

Austin is not only a teacher, instructor, and mentor, he is also a student and regularly attends conferences, seminars, and in person trainings.

Just in the last year, he has invested over 230 hours into continuing education.
